PLATFORM COMPARISON

FormAssembly vs. Jotform

FormAssembly is built for organizations that need a deep integration with Salesforce for their forms and workflows – without limitations that platforms like Jotform impose.

Who each platform is for

Choose FormAssembly if:

  • You collect data that lives in Salesforce, falls under HIPAA, FERPA, or FedRAMP, or moves through multi step approval workflows.
  • You need a deep Salesforce integration that writes directly to any object, certified compliance built into the platform.
  • You want a support team that responds when your business is on the line.

Choose Jotform if:

  • You need a fast way to publish a contact form, a simple survey, or a basic event signup.
  • You aren’t concerned with the depth of your Salesforce integration, processing sensitive information, or building workflows that touch federal systems.

Deep Salesforce integration. No middleware required.

FormAssembly writes directly to any standard or custom Salesforce object through a guided, no-code setup. Prefill from existing records, update multiple objects in a single submission, and pass data back and forth between Salesforce and your form in real time — without Zapier, custom Apex, or third-party connectors.

This is the difference between a form that drops a copy of itself into Salesforce, and a form that updates the right record on the right object the first time.

Say “Hey” to Fai

Fai is FormAssembly’s built-in AI assistant. It generates branded, enterprise-ready forms and full workflows — including data routing, conditional logic, and integrations — in seconds. Every suggestion is transparent, editable, and optional, so your team gains the speed of AI without losing control of what ships.

Jotform offers an AI form builder that produces standalone forms from a prompt. It does not generate workflows, route data to Salesforce, or apply enterprise-level controls.

FedRAMP authorized. HIPAA certified. SOC 2 Type II.

FormAssembly offers products in FedRAMP and DoD IL4 Certified environments, HIPAA Business Associate Agreement coverage, SOC 2 Type II, PCI-DSS Level 1, and FERPA certification. Atlas, FormAssembly’s enterprise infrastructure layer, runs on dedicated AWS environments with built-in controls for PHI, data residency, and global compliance.

Jotform does not hold FedRAMP authorization. HIPAA coverage on Jotform is gated to the Enterprise plan. If your data falls under federal contract requirements or healthcare audit thresholds, that gap matters before you collect a single submission.

Support that knows your use case.

FormAssembly earned a 98% customer satisfaction rating and was named a SoftwareReviews Vendor Support Experience Leader in 2025. Every plan includes documented response SLAs. Enterprise plans add a four-hour response time, a named account manager, structured onboarding, and live training webinars.

Jotform’s faster response times, phone support, and dedicated account management are reserved for higher-tier plans. For a team that is already evaluating you on integration depth and compliance, that is the wrong place to find out.

Independent reviewers agree: FormAssembly has what matters

FormAssembly ranks #1 in four SoftwareReviews categories that matter most when forms become infrastructure: Ease of Implementation, APIs and Integration, Breadth of Features, and Ease of Customization. Jotform does not place in the top 10 for any of these four.

“[Our team] needed to move to an Adobe Experience site. Jotform is not able to pull in certain data and it seems like they’re missing information on those submissions.”

Frequently asked questions

How does FormAssembly’s Salesforce integration compare to Jotform’s?

FormAssembly’s Salesforce integration is bi-directional. It writes directly to any standard or custom object, supports multi-object mapping in a single submission, and prefills forms from existing records — all through a guided, no-code setup.

While Jotform can handle most Salesforce integration needs, users looking for depth may struggle. Ease of configuration is often lacking and the limitations of Jotform’s plans make scalable, high-volume use cases a risky endeavor.

As both platforms offer free trials – it’s worth experiencing the difference for yourself.

Is FormAssembly HIPAA compliant?

Yes. FormAssembly offers HIPAA Business Associate Agreement coverage and is built to handle Protected Health Information across enterprise plans. FormAssembly also holds FedRAMP authorization, SOC 2 Type II, PCI-DSS Level 1, and FERPA certification, making it one of a small number of online forms platforms certified to support healthcare, government, and education workflows on a single platform.

Does Jotform have FedRAMP authorization?

No. Jotform does not hold FedRAMP authorization. Federal agencies and contractors required to use FedRAMP-authorized systems for in-scope data collection cannot deploy Jotform for that work. Jotform is currently pursuing StateRamp certification.

FormAssembly offers plans in a FedRAMP authorized environment and is currently used by federal, state, and local government teams.

How long does it take to migrate from Jotform to FormAssembly?

Most teams complete a Jotform-to-FormAssembly migration within 30 to 60 days. Every FormAssembly plan includes implementation guidance and a template library to accelerate rebuilds.

Enterprise customers can engage the FormAssembly Implementation Services team for full migration support — including form rebuilds, Salesforce mapping, and workflow configuration.

Your data needs more than basic forms.

Your forms handle protected health information, Salesforce records, and federal data. The platform you choose needs to be certified, connected, and supported at that level. FormAssembly is.
